Superior Essex is the first cable manufacturer listed as CMR – Low Smoke, Halogen-free (LSHF) by UL Wire & Cable, a division of the safety science company Underwriters Laboratories, for its CAT 6+ CMR LSHF premises copper cables. This designation was awarded in accordance with the latest version of the IEC 62821-1,-2 and -3 standards, and is valid not only for the cable but also for any compounds or materials used in the cable, from cable jacketing and insulation to its ColorTip circuit identification system.

These cables easily surpasses the Grade 2 requirements specified in the ANSI/TIA/EIA-570-B Residential Telecommunications standard, and CAT 6 compliance ensures these cables will support 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet.
