Hurricane Ian: Relief Donations Made; Employee Funds To Be Matched

Superior Essex Inc. today announced it will make a series of donations in support of relief efforts in the Southeastern United States. Subsidiary brands—Essex Furukawa Magnet Wire, Superior Essex Communications, and Essex Brownell—will all contribute financially in the wake of Hurricane Ian with funding through the American Red Cross.

All three of the Superior Essex brands will also match donations of its employees.

Daniel Choi, Superior Essex CEO, said that the trauma is not easily erased but it can be eased.

“It’s heartbreaking to see the images of loss and the stories of suffering,” he said. “We understand how fortunate we are that our operations have been able to avoid the path of Hurricane Ian without incident, but we also know that many others were not.”

“Recovery will take many months, so we are choosing to help those impacted return to some form of normalcy as soon as possible.”

Each of the aforementioned brands have donated a combined $30,000 to the American Red Cross, as well as committed to matching up to an additional $30,000 in employee donation matching to follow
