Essex Brownell Expands McDonough Distribution Center, Increases Regional Support

Essex Brownell is pleased to announce the expansion of its McDonough, GA distribution center, further solidifying its position as a southeast regional hub. The company renewed its lease in May of 2023 and used the opportunity to execute its regional support strategy, resulting in a significant increase in space and enhanced capabilities.

The McDonough distribution center had recently grown from 25,000 sq. feet to an impressive 133,000 sq. feet, allowing Essex Brownell to better serve its customers in the Atlanta metro area and southeast region. This latest expansion not only provides ample room for increased inventory storage but also enables the company to enhance its hazardous storage capacity. As part of the ongoing development, a state-of-the-art 40′ x 40′ HazMat room is currently being built and is expected to be completed later this fall.

Rebecca Hunnicutt, Vice President of Operations & Customer Service at Essex Brownell, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Our investment in the McDonough facility has produced better-than-expected results and has given us increased confidence in making this second expansion plan. Adding the additional space is only going to further improve the service that we can provide our customers in the region.”

With the expansion, Essex Brownell has also doubled its rack capacity, allowing for the storage of significantly increased inventory. This includes the increased supply of PureNet, LS Electric, and LS Cable product lines, further expanding the company’s offerings and meeting the growing demands of its customers.
