Title: Account Sales Representative

 ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: 

The Account Representative’s primary duties include day to day contact with customers via inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, providing product quotes, negotiating, perform math calculations, margin analysis, review specifications, daily order management, coordinate orders with production and shipping depts. and problem identification and resolution.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Assist in increasing sales revenue by promoting existing and new products to customer base.  

Grow account sales volume by recommending products, offering alternate products for any out of stock issues as appropriate; introduce new products and stay abreast of change in new product availability and production.   

Develop cross-selling and up-selling techniques. 

Assist other Inside Team Members when excessive workload occurs in other areas of the department.  

Qualify Sales Leads from Marketing Department, On-line Inquiries or other sources.   

Process all customer requests, phone inquiries, fax requests for debits, credits, RMA’s, expedite requests and email requests in a timely, accurate, expeditious and professional manner.   

Prepare verbal and written quotations based on departmental guidelines.   

Process customer orders in an efficient and timely manner. 

Follow contractual guidelines as set forth in the company’s Customer agreements. 

Work in conjunction with Manufacture’s Representative, Regional Sales Managers to maintain and grow sales within assigned territory.   

Perform other sales functions including, but not limited to, outbound sales campaigns via phone, email or mail as directed.  

Interpret market conditions and facilitate communications between the customers, Regional Sales Managers and Vice President – Energy Sales. 

 SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

  • Strong self-starter and ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), negotiation and phone skills. 
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills and be detail oriented to effectively adapt quickly to changing priorities, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Be proactive to establish contacts with reps and distributors to grow the business.
  • Implement sales activities to achieve the Energy business sales forecast.
  • Customer focus mind set.
  • Ability to fully understand the technical specifications of our products.
  • Team player who works productively with wide range of people. 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, experience with high volume calls in a sales environment.
  • Flexibility in work schedules when called upon to support an increase in sales activities within a territory and or various time zones.
  • Ability to successfully promote the sale and product mix of Energy Cables, Data Cables and Fire Alarm and Security Cables.
  • Respond in a courteous, timely manner to customers’ questions/problems.
  • Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures.
  • Strong math skills to analyze calculate and submit various types of pricing proposals for quotation and purchase order management.  
  • Ability to travel to plants and customers’ place of business when called upon.
  • Willingness to relocate outside of the Atlanta Region if promotion/career path requires.

 COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn a specialized order entry / quotes system.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite of Products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Electrical Energy Cables (LV & MV) sales experience preferred within the Utility and Industrial markets.
  • High School Diploma required. College Degree is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) a plus.
  • 5 Years prior inside or outside sales experience preferred with electrical wholesale distributors and end users.
  • Strong inside telecommunication sales skills with the ability to negotiate and sell products over the phone/email to strategic and or new accounts.
